gasp of air
Some night’s darkness crawls to bed with me,
Surrounds me with a deadly silence.
Some nights, just some nights, a light appears in the horizon.
Far, far away, like a lighthouse in a thunderstorm.
But most nights, like this night, I find myself in darkness
Gasping for air to reach my lungs,
Giving me something so I might survive the night.
Tonight the gasping is lauder than it’s been before.
Less air is passing thru my lips,
I feel my veins weaken,
Soon the last tread of hope is gone,
And all I might dream of
Is that yet another gasp of air
May pass thru my lips
Surrounds me with a deadly silence.
Some nights, just some nights, a light appears in the horizon.
Far, far away, like a lighthouse in a thunderstorm.
But most nights, like this night, I find myself in darkness
Gasping for air to reach my lungs,
Giving me something so I might survive the night.
Tonight the gasping is lauder than it’s been before.
Less air is passing thru my lips,
I feel my veins weaken,
Soon the last tread of hope is gone,
And all I might dream of
Is that yet another gasp of air
May pass thru my lips
